Us Weekly confirmed in February 2021 that the athlete was dating actress Shailene Woodley shortly before the quarterback revealed he was engaged.
Rodgersshared the news during the NFL Honors awards. The NFL quarterback took home the 2020 AP Most Valuable Player award during the televised celebration.
“2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing, memorable moments, 180 straight days of having my nose hair scraped, playing for very little fans or no stands the entire season,” Rodgers said during his speech. “I got engaged and I played some of the best football in my career. So I’d like to thank, first and foremost, my teammates for their support, their inspiration, protection, incredible play on the field. … Off the field I’ve got a great group of people that support me, so I’d like to thank my team.”
Rodgers listed several people in his circle before giving a special shout-out to “my fiancée.”

“Aaron and Shailene are dating!” a source shared in February 2021. “They started off as friends, but things have turned romantic. The two are staying in contact while they are living away from each other. The relationship is long-distance for right now, but they are making it work.”
However, their romance was short-lived with Us confirming one year later that they’d split.
“Shailene has been super busy with work,” an insider told Us in February 2022, noting that Rodgers is always “focused” on football. “Everything was so different during lockdown, and they had been living in their bubble. Friends of Shailene didn’t believe Aaron is the best match for her.”

The Gossip Girl alum and Rodgers sparked romance rumors in 2011. They called it quits but briefly reunited in early 2014. A source confirmed to Us they initially split because of other commitments.
"They broke up because her schedule was crazy for a while and they just couldn't stay together in that situation but now they have been spending their free time together and things feel good. They fell right back into it," the insider said at the time.

The X-Men: Apocalypse star started dating Rodgers in 2014. They were an item for three years before calling it quits in April 2017. When they started their relationship, Rodgers was estranged from his family. Their romance further strained the dynamic, a source told Us at the time.
"Aaron is the one that has pulled away from the family, not the reverse," the insider said. "When he got together with Olivia Munn, his family told them they didn't trust her and thought she wasn't with him for the right reasons. That made him furious, and he ended up choosing Olivia over his family."
During a 2018 interview on SirusXM's Radio Andy, Munn revealed that she pushed Rodgers to reconnect with his family. "Before he and I started dating, he hadn't spoken to the parents and one brother for, like, eight months before we started dating," she explained.
Munn continued, "They had a really nice conversation, then they started coming out my first year when I was in Green Bay in 2014. I just think it's really important to try to mend things in a family, and I encouraged that."
