Malibu is pretty light with only 21% alcohol /volume compared with Bacardi coming in at 35%. This results in Malibu having the much smoother taste. If I'm imbibing it straight up , I choose Malibu. For me the added coconut flavours of Bacardi get pretty harsh on the throat if not combined in a tamer beverage.
