If you are referring to the On3 76mm journal vs ball bearing turbos..I had the ball bearing 76mm on my 99 convertible car. It was ok. The journal bearing 70mm that I had originally spooled a lot quicker, but that was a .68 vs a .96 a/r exhaust housing which obviously makes a difference. The 76 bb made 680rwhp/700rwtq on my 2v 4.6 at around 23lbs.

They are also more robust as far as high boost levels are concerned as no longer relying on conventional thrust bearings. Certainly never heard anyone ever suggest a JB turbo would spool faster than BB.
