Reclinable Lotus lounge chair designed by Rob Parry for Gelderland. Rob Parry (The Hague, 1925-2023) was educated at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. His most important teachers were Cor Alons, Paul Schuitema and Gerrit Rietveld at whose desk he worked. Rietveld's desk also laid the foundations for his interest in exhibition design.

Beautiful Lotus chair designed by Rob Parry for Gelderland in 1952. This chair has new straps/webbing and a new cushion that is covered with a light blue mixed fabric - The Camira Main Line Flax. This fabric consists of 25% flax and 75% wool and it fits perfectly with the sleek, but comfortable look of this Lotus chair. This Lotus chair has chrome, square legs that are slightly tilted.

Pair of Lotus lounge chairs designed by Rob Parry in the 1950s for Gelderland. He made different models in this Lotus Series. This one with the lower back is in my opinion the nicest version. The chairs are reupholstered with a beautiful cream/grey wool fabric by Bute Scotland. Also the foam and the singles are renewed. They have a solid teak and grey metal frame and teak armrests. Good.

A beautiful "Lotus" chair designed by Rob Parry, manufactured by Gelderland in the Netherlands around 1960. A highly recognizable piece of Dutch design! This wonderful modernist chair is made from high quality grey metal with warm brown wood and grey fabric upholstery, creating a nice harmonious style that really contributes to the appearance. The armrests and slightly backwards positioned.

Rob Parry (1925) is a well-known Dutch designer of industrial design. Gerrit Rietveld was one of his teachers. Characteristic of his style are the elegant lines, high degree of functionality and the way in which materials are used. Parry studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. After graduating, Parry started his own business.
