The Waifs' Donna Simpson suffered four broken ribs and collapsed lungs in the crash on September 27. The musician said she had been in a head-on crash with a backpacker who did not understand the need to keep left on the footpath. "He was kind of baulking and to avoid colliding with him I went off into the sand," Simpson said.
