Popularity Poll Arc in my opinion is the best comedy arc ever, it's hilarious from start to end and has some pretty cool moments. As far serious arcs go, in my opinion Gintama does an awesome job with them so it's hard to chose but I guess the 4 Devas Arc, over all tough one with that.

emman52 • • Edited I'll rank my top 10 arcs: (keep in mind that this is only from the anime) Shogun Assassination Arc - tons of twists and turns, lots of character development both from the main cast and supporting casts' and the antagonists. Great direction on battles and backstories. Great emotional rollercoaster from the start to its conclusion.

Serious arcs: Shogun Assassination/Farewell Shinsengumi. Silver Soul & Silver Soul Aftermath. Four Devas. Shinsengumi Crisis. Yoshiwara in Flames (interchangeable with Rakuyo). Comedy arcs: Popularity Polls Scandal. Dekobokko. Soul Switch. Vacation arc. Overall, I could switch a lot of them, especially the comedy ones. They're all just too good.
