Mar 10, 2012. #1. 91 ezgo 244cc robin 2 stroke wont run right at all. new carb, hei mod, it will run in reverse perfectly, but in forward it backfires, and if you can get it started it will only run from 3/4 to full throttle then on decelleration it will backfire. any ideas? couldnt be the seal? i cleaned the carb with compressed.

I also replaced the clutch but none of this has made any difference in the performance. I double-checked the piston to be sure it was put in correctly.
