East Point Reserve was extensively cleared in the 1960s and after cyclone Tracy in 1974. Revegetation of cleared areas and restoration of remnant monsoon rainforest is ongoing at the Reserve. A short sandy path in front of one of the pavilions leads to the lake. I recommend that you go there to admire the breathtaking view of the lake.
