Had a ford escort mk1 1100 many years ago and while the engine was a bit gutless it was a willing performer for what it was. The driving position was good and I thought the seats were quite comfortable. The engine was durable ,economical and I don't recall any major mechanical issues. The one let down was the brakes. They were dreadful.
