Introduced for the 1979 model year, the Subaru BRAT (Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter) was a series of cars offered exclusively as coupe utilities. The BRAT was light based on the Subaru Leone station wagon, and featured full time all wheel drive. Subaru only offered the BRAT as an export model, so it was never sold in Japan.
