Seit 1871 ist die Seepyramide Grabstätte des Fürsten. 1884 wurde Fürstin Lucie von Pückler-Muskau (1776-1854) vom alten Branitzer Dorffriedhof in die Pyramide umgebettet. Beide liegen in einem nunmehr mit Erde gefüllten Stollen auf der Nordostseite der Pyramide. Die im See gelegene Pyramide ist zu jeder Jahreszeit ein Blickfang.
