Answer 1 of 5: We want to travel from Milan to Frankfurt. Is it advisable to rent a car in Milan and travel via Chamonix Mont Blanc to Frankfurt. We have 4 days for this trip. What is the best route to follow, or is it better to just get on the train and go.

We are staying in chamonix for a couple of days in june and were looking to do the montenvers mer de glace train and gondola down to the ice cave,also the aigulle du midi. After looking online i have found a pass called the mont blanc multipass for 50 euros for 1 day which seems to cover this and more.

We are visiting Chamonix next week and thinking of buying the multi pass for the duration of our stay. We are hoping to go to the Aiguille du Midi and also go to across to Punta Hellbronner one day and maybe another day go to Plan d'Aiguille and hike from there.
