Comuna Ocna de Fier este compusă doar din satul cu același nume, se află într-o zonă deluroasă a Banatului, la 7 km de orașul Bocșa și la aprox. 23 km de municipiul Reșița. Se învecinează cu orașul Bocșa și localitatea Dognecea. Zona este foarte frumoasă și foarte căutată de către amatorii de drumeții.
