In a round wok if you put 1 tablespoon of oil into it, you'll get a decent size pool of oil to cook things. With a flat wok the oil spreads out. It's really heavy. 3.9lbs compared to 2.8lbs for my slightly larger traditional wok. A lot of that weight is probably in the handle. The pre-seasoning is strange.
