The Pieterskerk is one of the gems of Leiden. This beautiful church dates back to 1121 when it was rebuilt in the spot of another chapel. It took almost 200 years to build the church, however this Gothic church has changed a bit over the years due to bad luck (e.g. collapsing of the church tower in the 1500s).
