Archbishop Angelo Roncalli, the future Pope St John XXIII, preached in that church from 1934 to 1944 when he was the Vatican's ambassador to Turkey. Much loved by the people of Turkey, they still call.

Orijinal St. Anthony of Padua Kilisesi, 1725 yılında İstanbul 'daki İtalyan topluluğu tarafından inşa edilmiş; ancak daha sonra yıkılmış ve aynı yerde inşa edilen mevcut bina ile değiştirilmiştir.
