This version of Manon Lescaut, even with Jonas Kaufmann (whom I greatly admire) is just plain SILLY! In preference try the Mets 1980 production with Renata Scotto and Domingo. It is getting on a bit, and it certainly isn't HD, but it is a very good production and at least it's not silly! Read more.
