This version of Oliver Twist has the factory mark used 1954-65 and is therefore a much later re-issue of a figurine which was probably first produced in the 1880's.. The first seven are signed J Price and have date ciphers for 1946-50. The Monsal Dale Waterfall version dated 1950 is initialled "D.E.K." and the Haddon Hall plate dated 1959 is signed by Brenda "Pip" Bentley. According to Twitchett and Bailey John Price joined Royal Crown Derby from Doulton as decorating Manager in 1945. (See 1947 Staff List).
