Seal Brown & Wild Agouti Brown (sometimes called Seal Brown), designated as 'At', is a mutation of the original Agouti allele. This differs from Agouti in that, instead of restricting or "erasing" the black colour pigment from the whole of the horse's body, it only affects the 'soft' parts - the nose, armpit, groin, point of the rump, sometimes the belly.

Phenotype Seal brown is a dark variation of bay, sometimes appearing to be almost black. However, areas around the muzzle, eye, flanks and other soft parts of the body are lighter coloured, often more yellowish. The back and crest of the neck are (nearly) black, and these dark hairs move downwards until they meet the lighter areas.

A crossing of a 'seal brown' horse and a cremello/perlino would generally result in a buckskin foal. This is because a 'seal brown' horse is actually a bay.
