1 Select your fabric. The blanket is made by sewing together two pieces of fabric. You can choose matching fabric for both sides, or you can mix patterns and types of fabric for the bottom and top. Consider how you plan to use your quillow and who it is for.

Turn the pillow right sides out and using a hand needle and thread, blind stitch the turning hole closed. Press the pillow for a crisp look. Position the finished pillow front on the top middle of one of the quilt fabric panels. Match up the panel on the unfinished outside edge of the quilt panel. Machine stitch the pillow panel to your quilt.

Used with permission. To fold it, turn the quillow over so that the pocket is on the bottom. Fold lengthwise into thirds, overlapping the center. Roll or fold the quilt into 18-inch sections. When you get to the end, the entire quilt will have been folded into an 18-inch block. Turn the pocket inside out over the top of the block, making a pillow.

Pin around the edges. Sew along the edges with a ½" seam allowance, leaving a hole at the top (along a wide edge or the top of your pocket) for turning.
