Swedish infantry battalions each formed a "jägare" force. The jägare were selected from the men of the line companies and formed into a separate unit only on mobilization. In the 1813 regulations, the number of jägare per battalion was a platoon with 58 officers and men (one officer, two sergeants, four corporals, one bugler and 50 privates).
