Dating a Yamaha FG300? Hi, I've just acquired a Yamaha FG300 & I'd really appreciate some help working out how old it might be. The chap who sold it to me thought it was 1969ish, but he wasn't the original owner & my suspicion is that it's probably younger than that. My Yamaha fg300 I inherited when my grandfather passed away, made in
Yamaha FG-300 Acoustic Guitar Red Label MIJ 1970's. This guitar looks a little rough but man does it sound great. There has been major repair work done and now this guitar is solid and stable. The top has been patched near the pickguard. Pickguard is a replacement. The top in is coming up a little bit behind the bridge but the bridge in not.
